2024
Sadly, Bobtoberfest 2024 has come to a raucous close, leaving behind a trail of unforgettable moments, questionable culinary choices, and enough laughter to fuel a small brewery! Our hearts are still racing, not just from the beer but also from the hilarity that unfolded throughout the day. Let’s dive into the delightful chaos!
A heartfelt thank you to our gracious host, Bob, who once again managed to wrangle us all together in the name of beer and camaraderie. Seriously, how does he keep us from devolving into complete mayhem? It’s like herding cats… if those cats were fueled by hops and laughter!
Now, onto the crown jewel of the festival—the beer that took home the top honor! Drumroll, please! Bemidji Brewing dominated the competition with their back-to-back win! Strangely enough, “Beer 20” and “Beer 26,” turned out to be identical twins. We’re not sure if the judges were experiencing déjà vu or if their taste buds were just having a party of their own, but either way, cheers to Bemidji for conquering our palates yet again!
But wait, there’s more! “Beer 11” emerged as the undisputed worst beer of the festival, with tasters describing it as tasting like “wet socks” and “a sad farewell.” One brave soul even dared to say it tasted like “the regrets of last Friday night.” Ouch!
Of course, we felt the gaping void left by our pal Dave, who opted to sit this one out. His absence was like a beer festival without the beer—just plain sad! We missed his infectious laughter and his uncanny ability to turn even the most questionable brews into a hilarious story. Someone joked that we should put a life-sized cardboard cutout of him at the table next year, complete with a stein in hand. Here’s hoping Dave makes a grand return to Bobtoberfest 2025—because let’s face it, we need someone to explain why “Beer 11” is truly a crime against humanity!
And we can’t forget about Hawk Tuah beer. Despite its intriguing name, it didn’t quite capture hearts or taste buds. In fact, many attendees were more amused by the name than the brew itself. “Hawk Tuah? More like ‘Hawk, why?’” was a popular refrain echoing through the tents.
Of course, the festival was rife with unforgettable antics. Jaz was spotted munching on crayons, adding a vibrant flair to the beer-tasting experience. We’re still not sure if it was a misguided attempt at pairing or just pure curiosity, but it certainly made for some colorful comments on the rating sheets! Meanwhile, Travis, our resident hose enthusiast, was seen sucking on hoses and proclaiming it was the best way to hydrate. We’re still trying to figure out what he was hydrating from—perhaps a thirst for adventure?
And let’s not overlook Erin, who sported her signature shirt throughout the day. At one point, she exclaimed, “This makes me unhappy!”—which had us all chuckling, because who knew being surrounded by beer and laughter could feel so tragic? We love you, Erin! Maybe next year, we’ll find a brew that brings a smile to your face—preferably one without crayons!
As we bid farewell to Bobtoberfest 2024, let’s raise our glasses high in gratitude for another year filled with laughter, quirky comments, and, most importantly, fantastic beer. Here’s to hoping next year’s festivities bring even more hilarity and maybe a few less crayons in the mix. Until we gather again to celebrate the magic of beer and camaraderie—Prost to Bobtoberfest! 🍻🎉
